Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises

A celebrated leader in global cruising, Princess Cruises hosts 1.7 million passengers each year on cruises to worldwide destinations. It’s no wonder they are known as the “Destination Experts”!

Fast Facts

From one single cruise to Mexico in 1965, Princess has flourished to become one of the world’s premier cruise lines. Each year, the Princess fleet carries around 1.7 million guests to an array of exciting global destinations. Princess Cruises is renowned for its innovative cruise ships and onboard options, not to mention the exceptional class of customer service. Cruises range in duration from 3-day short cruises to 114 days around the world.

In 1977, Princess Cruises became famous when Pacific Princess became the star of the now-iconic television show, "The Love Boat". This weekly series gave millions of viewers the taste for holidays on the high seas. Not only has the television show been credited with fuelling the growth of the cruise industry, it has also made Princess Cruises an iconic name within it.

Perhaps more than any other cruise line, Princess Cruises celebrates the ultimate cruising luxury – the private balcony. The line took the balcony from a once exclusive feature to an affordable cruise option. Today, Princess Cruises boasts one of the highest percentages of balcony staterooms, across all categories, in the industry.

Other innovations pioneered by Princess Cruises are found in the dining room. The cruise line was the first to introduce 24-hour dining with a “round the clock” restaurant, as well as Anytime Dining in the main dining room – which has since become an industry-wide feature.

Ultimate Ship Tour

Princess passengers can embark on a behind-the-seas adventure for a true glimpse what happens on their ship. Available on most ships, the exclusive tour includes the bridge, engine control room, command centre and other crew-only areas. Passengers will also meet the captain and receive themed souvenirs.

Food and Dining

Princess offers passengers a choice of Anytime Dining and Traditional Dining. Anytime Dining gives the flexibility of deciding when, where and with whom you dine. Alternatively, Traditional Dining is perfect for those who wish to dine with the same people, at the same time and served by the same wait staff.  Whichever option guests choose, the menus are creative and fresh with new delights to try every day of the cruise.

Restaurants onboard Princess ships include the celebrated Sabatini’s, which serves up hearty yet contemporary Italian cuisine. For premium steak and seafood, The Crown Grill is the place to be. Horizon Court gives a more casual atmosphere for smaller bites, salads and desserts. And out by the pool, guests can enjoy freshly prepared hot dogs, pizza and burgers.

For an unforgettable dining experience aboard Princess Cruises’ ships, guests can choose the Ultimate Balcony Dining, where a multi-course dinner or breakfast is served on your private balcony by your own waitstaff and The Chef’s Table. Here, gourmands can experience a stunning dinner with wine pairing hosted by the ship’s executive chef.

Every stateroom includes chocolates on your pillow, complimentary toiletries, and an evening turndown service – just as you would expect in a first-class hotel. Also available on request are bathrobes and daily fresh fruit. This is on top of general amenities such as a private safe, fridge and hairdryer.

Guests in the ships’ mini-suites enjoy a welcome glass of champagne, a sitting area, two televisions, and a spacious wardrobe. And on top of these, guests in full suites enjoy a DVD/CD player with free access to a comprehensive DVD library, free laundry and valet services, access to the disembarkation lounge use and a once-off free mini-bar setup. On select ships, full size suite guests will also have access to the Lotus Spa Thermal Suite.”

Each stateroom has US plug fittings, while rooms on the Sun Princess and Sea Princess come with Australian sockets and adaptors.

Princess has become a popular choice for holidaymakers with disabilities as the ships and shore excursions include lots of accessible choices.

Onshore excursions

Princess Cruises’ guests can truly cruise their way with a huge variety of onshore excursions. The line also offers a range of “cruisetours” which let passengers get the best of both worlds with a cruise experience and a full overland tour. The Alaska tours are perhaps the best example of this in action. In addition to eight cruise ships, Princess Cruises operates riverside wilderness lodges, deluxe motor coaches and luxury rail cars allowing holidaymakers to seamlessly connect from the cruise ship to the spectacular Alaskan scenery.

With a host of exclusive amenities and comfortably elegant venues, Princess Cruises creates relaxing, rejuvenating retreats for the whole family. While Princess cruise ships are amongst the largest cruise ships afloat, they magically achieve the intimate atmosphere you would expect on a smaller ship. Enjoy a mixture of lively and intimate venues to suit your mood. Then relax in the privacy of your stateroom, which promises an excellent standard of luxury and comfort.

Spend a few tranquil hours in The Sanctuary, a spacious on-deck adult-only retreat where guests can enjoy a revitalising massage, live entertainment and signature cocktails. As evening falls, you can choose from exclusive entertainment options. Watch the latest box office hits at The Movies Under The Stars poolside theatre. Head to the Piazza for street performer-style entertainment. On a Princess Cruise, officers and crew make every guest feel relaxed and happy – none more so than the experienced staff who supervise and host the younger guests at the Youth Centres and Teen Lounges.
