Best Winter Cruises On Dawn Princess

Fresh from a major refurbishment in 2015, Dawn Princess has new features including a Beer and Wine Garden Festival experience at sea, a renovated Wheelhouse Bar, a new Italian café, and a revitalised Lotus Spa. She also has alluring itineraries on offer this winter for anyone wishing to escape the winter chill. Here’s our top five.

1. Sydney to Fremantle

Begin winter in style on Dawn Princess’s repositioning cruise to Fremantle; it’s a 17-night voyage featuring the best of the east coast, the Top End and Australia’s west. Besides kicking back at sea for nine days, port highlights include Brisbane, Yorkeys Knob for Cairns, Alotau in Papua New Guinea, a half day in Darwin, plus Broome and Geraldton in Western Australia. As an additional a treat, you’ll spend a morning cruising the famed scenic coast of the stunning, rugged Kimberley.

2. Fremantle to Indonesia

If you have the time, and fancy something even more exotic, you can escape the winter chill exploring the fascinating archipelago of Indonesia on this 15-night itinerary. The round trip from Fremantle kicks off with three sea days, followed by a stop at Komodo Island for some dragon spotting and a day in Ujung Pandang. After a sea day, you’ll spend a long day in Semarang, enjoy another sea day, and then visit Probolinggo, Bali and Lombok. The holiday wraps up with three leisurely days cruising back to Fremantle.

3. Singapore to Fremantle

In July you can spend two weeks exploring Southeast Asia, combining a lineup of popular ports of call with eight relaxing sea days ideal for soaking up the sun. First up in ports of call is Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, followed by Cambodia’s Sihanoukville, then two popular stops in Thailand; bustling Bangkok from Laem Chabang, and the beach playground of Koh Samui. After three more days at sea you’ll enjoy a final stop in Bali, before three more days at sea ahead of arriving in Fremantle.

4. Fremantle to Singapore

Dawn Princess will operate a reverse leg of this itinerary in August, a 12-day cruise from Fremantle with a slightly different lineup of ports. The holiday begins with three days at sea and a stop in Lombok, Indonesia. After two more sea days you’ll visit a string of ports in Malaysia including Kuala Lumpur from Port Klang, Penang, and the gorgeous archipelago of Langkawi. The cruise wraps up with a full day of beach hopping in Thailand’s Phuket, a final sea day, and then your arrival into cosmopolitan Singapore.

5. Southeast Asia

If you have even more time on hand, why not combine both of Dawn Princess’s Asian itineraries on a 26-day round trip from Fremantle exploring the best of Southeast Asia? Highlights include 14 relaxing sea days and popular ports of call in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia, plus long days to explore the capitals of Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur from Port Klang.
